Magic amount code

I did some code searching and found this, but I\'m not too sure if it\'s alreay been found though.

It's a code that changes the magic meter size.

Beta Quest code and Map Cloud Coverage Modifier

New Beta Quest code and Map Cloud Coverage Modifier! I've been doing quite a bit of work, lately, and I've made some pleasant discoveries that I think you guys would be interested in!

Earlier, I had submitted to our code-hunting group, Project Z64, a code I had found that would suppress the interface (C buttons, A+B buttons, Start menu, hearts, magic, rupees). The problem that was discovered during testing was that although it worked in most areas, there were still places where the interface would return to normal.

Well, thanks to a new code I've discovered, you can make it now virtually impossible to have the interface reappear! Better yet, you can also tell it when to reappear! And even better, this code affects the whole game, and not just the Beta Quest (unlike its predecessor)! I have all three U.S. versions listed below. PAL conversions will be found as soon as possible.

These codes at first may not seem like a big deal, but in truth, it is! These codes not only allow us to explore the whole Beta Quest without it annoyingly disappearing on us, but it'll also prevent cutscenes from activating by themselves (all save Darunia, who seems to talk no matter what you do).

Now, enough talk! Here's the codes!

NTSC 1.0 8011B4B9 00FF
8011B92F 0001
NTSC 1.1 8011B679 00FF
811DBAEF 0001
NTSC 1.2 8011BB69 00FF
8011BFDF 0001

Here's the info on that code:

The first one is the original. It works most of the time, but it won't affect anything outside of the Beta Quest. It's the safest version of this code, but like I said, it won't work all the time.

The second one is new and directly affects the interface itself. When set to 0, the interface will always be on, regardless of whether you're in the Beta Quest or not. Exits will normalize themselves and the game will work normally. When set to 1, the game remains in the Beta Quest no matter where you go, but any exit that would normally return you to the regular game will instead crash the game. Setting it to 2 will do the following: Link will start in the Beta Quest as usual, then when you exit Hyrule Field (or wherever) the File Selection screen will pop up. When you load a file, it'll take you to the starting place (Link will arrive funny). When you leave, it'll bring you back to the File Selection screen. Setting it to 3 will make the exits extremely unstable, but it'll suppress the interface and also make Navi available. Setting it to 4 or above does the same thing but without Navi.

Of course, you don't have to use both of them together like this. If you have files you want to keep, just use the first. If you only want to use one code but don't care about file loss, use the second. But I recommend using both, just in case.

I've got another code, too! Not quite as big, but kinda cool to play with! This one will change the cloud coverage on the Map on the Start Menu.

NTSC 1.0 8111B50B ????
NTSC 1.1 8111B6C0 ????
NTSC 1.2 8111BBBB ????

I only have the value FFFF on my notes, which reveals the whole map except for Lake Hylia, Kokiri Forest, and most of Zora's Domain (some of the Fountain is visible near the top).

Enjoy!

Alternate Cutscene Code

'It seems that the two codes I posted (the \"safe\" one and the direct one) are actually completely different codes that achieve practically the same effects. This is what happens.

V1.0: 8011B4B9 00FF
V1.1: 8011B679 00FF
V1.2: 8011BB69 00FF

This code will try to suppress cutscenes from starting while you\'re in the Beta Quest. So, if you enter Kakariko Village, you\'ll see Link run in instead of watching the flames and seeing the words \"Kakariko Village\" flash on your screen. This has the nifty side-effect of preventing the interface from appearing. In other words, by stopping cutscenes, it prevents the game from restoring your C buttons, map, and Start menu. The problem with this is that if the interface is restored without a cutscene involved, the code won\'t work, so you\'ll see your C buttons again.

On the positive side, this code will not make your game crash, so it\'s pretty much safe to use.

V1.0: 8011B92F 000X
V1.1: 811DBAEF 000X
V1.2: 8011BFDF 000X

This code will modify the interface itself. It has nothing to do with cutscenes. So, if you set this code to 0, it will make sure that no matter what, the interface will remain on (the only problem this presents is when the game starts, as it will automatically open the interface before the intro cutscene can start). If you set this code to 1, the game will hide your C buttons, disable the map and start menu, and will be unable to turn any of these on. This means that if you enter Kakariko Village with it set to 1, the cutscene will start as usual, but afterwards you will see Link and the interface will not appear. The exits will also remain in Beta mode. This can be extremely useful, as it allows you to play the Beta Quest and not have to worry about it reverting back to the \"normal\" game.

V1.0: 8011B4B9 00FF + 8011B92F 0001
V1.1: 8011B679 00FF + 811DBAEF 0001
V1.2: 8011BB69 00FF + 8011BFDF 0001

Paired together, these codes will make your Beta Quest experience better than ever. Not only will the interface remain off, but the game will also suppress almost all cutscenes that would otherwise annoy. Of course, you can see these cutscenes anytime by using the Cutscene Activator code (which is compatible with this code).

Unfortunately, we\'ve mapped out almost every single Beta Quest already, but there may come a time when these codes will become crucial once more.

DL77's Trick The Camera Code

Note: DL77 was clearly 12 when he wrote this. Fixed spelling mistakes/poor grammar choices - mzxrules

All you guys in the project, check this out. It is the latest code I've made up. MNgold help out on a lot of it so I got to give him a lot of credit on the code. i made it up he was able to find out how to make it more maneuverable. Here's how it works...

  1. Start out you Zelda 64 with one code on "use any item anywhere" (easily accessed with you got a rom)
  2. Head over to the temple of time and in front of the gossip stones. use Farore's wind.
  3. Use it again. you will now get warped right? But thing is instead of the normal fixed camera angle you get a 3d behind view with retro pre unrendered colours (the fuck does this even mean?).
  4. now the camera is in one spot and you can move around but once it starts you move out of place you can't see yourself. Use din fire to have the camera moved behind you again. repeat when necessary

then you got all over to explore hope you like... market and alley are also accessible and you can go to dampe's too!

here are some screen shots: www.geocities.com/dark_link_77/CameraAngles.html (dead link)

Suspicious Address Watching

Code Frenzy!!!!!', 'Okay, teamsters! Here\'s the deal. I\'ve gone through every suspicious address in the game, starting from 80110000 to 8011BFF3. All of the addresses I tried out had any of the following three values when the game ran in the Beta Quest (found using UltraHLE Frantic): 00, 01, or FF. I treated all of these addresses as boolean variables (can only be of two values: true or false), and tested them all by trying the numbers that were not in there initially. I have made some interesting, if not startling discoveries. Some I have already reported in detail, such as the Music Modifier code, the Interface code, and the Map Cloud Coverage Modifier code. Here is the full list, uncensored, unedited, to help find those secret codes. Try them anywhere and everywhere. I [i:959726db75]STRONGLY[/i:959726db75] recommend you use a ROM when trying any of these codes. It is much too dangerous and risky to try these codes on the cartridge, as files could easily become corrupted.

These were all tested using UltraHLE (in the beginning) and Project64 (later on). Cartridge version was 1.0 US NTSC. Codes used during testing were Beta Quest, Moonjump, Fire Arrows on Left-C, D-Down to run fast, and the Interface code when it was necessary. I recommend you do not use other codes without checking to make sure that they aren\'t already entered in from this list. Otherwise, you could make the emulator do strange things.

  • heaves a big breath* And now, the moment you\'ve been waiting for! The culmination of several years of difficult work!

to 1... visible changes in game found: Hear a staticky clicking sound and pretty much nothing else.

to 255... visible changes in game found: Very, very strange. There is no bridge, no flames, no horse sound effect, no metal chains to hold the bridge, no dust from rolling on paths, no arrows, no bombs, no aura when playing songs, attempting to warp causes a giant gray thing to appear and crashes, playing the Sun Song makes the game confused and keeps Link in \"Ocarina\" position while doing nothing, holding your sword in circle-standby position doesn\'t make the error sound when magic is depleted, fog effects with color cycling (such as when underwater) cause a freeze, Kakariko Village causes it to crash, entering Goron Shop will show the shop bare except for the tiny protruding counter where the Goron usually sits behind, in Zelda\'s garden Zelda is missing, you can\'t go under the small bridge (crashes), and the funky guards are gone, in the Back Alley there are no people.... all people, doors, objects, spawns, and particles seem to be completely gone, and in most cases, cause the game to crash. If the TLB is enabled, the game WILL crash at any attempt to create spawns or particles.

Set Cutscene Number Code

I found this at the oddesy of hyrule message boards. Ive tried these codes but have not gotten them too work. If these are true than we can see the beta ending.

Here are some oddities I\'ve recently found useing the Beta Quest code. It should be noted that I had it set up so the code wasn\'t constantly on. Here is how I had it set up:

(V1.0)

D01C84B5 0030 <-- Joker
8011B9E3 00?? <-- Beta

(V1.1)

D01C8675 0030 <-- Joker
8011BBA3 00?? <-- Beta

(V1.2)

D01C8D75 0030 <-- Joker
8011C093 00?? <-- Beta

The Joker codes are special codes that only activate the next line if a certain condition is met. In this case, it\'s if you\'re holding the L and R buttons. It must be the first line, with the beta code below it (all one code). For example, for V1.2, it has to be entered like this:

D01C8D75 0030
8011C093 00??

Replacing the ?? with the appropriate numbers.

One other thing to note is that I was using V1.2.

Here are some other codes that will help you explore. They must be entered exactly as shown. I did not make them.
